Epiphone Chet Atkins Country Gentleman

This is a truly unique Epiphone Chet Atkins Country Gentleman semi-hollowbody archtop guitar.

Dating back to about 1981, it marks a change in sponsorship for Chet Atkins, who previously endorsed the Country Gentleman with Gretsch. It’s flat action is very low and harmonics are warm in these very organic pickups. In fact, the bridge pickup was dead when it was brought in. It now has been internally bypassed to be a single-coil. Once it’s height had been adjusted to balance out well with the neck, it’s become a nice contrast of sounds, and practically more Gresch-y. (more…)
